Space Pony and Science Pony playing the space science event of the year! I’m well aware that comet and probes are way out of scale, but there wouldn’t be much to see otherwise. 😛
For anypony who doesn’t know what this is about: This week Wednesday, ESA’s Philae probe landed on comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko after separating from the Rosetta orbiter.
What’s going on here? Actually, I’m not sure. This sketch was inspired by an old tweet by Tabitha St. Germain that I found in my list of ideas:
“Dream remnants 1.
Well, there was a wild boar.
This I know for sure
It charged out mid private conversation
(as they will)”
— Tabitha St. Germain on Twitter, 2013-05-06 07:22
Her dream tweets are an amazing source of slightly surreal drawing ideas.
Finally, here’s the comic for which I was drawing all the Pinkie sketches. A while ago I talked about fork bombs (a type of denial of service attack) with a friend, and my mind went off on a tangent, just like Pinkie here.
Link of the day: A cute drawing of Twilight and Pinkie by Dana Simpson (author and artist of Heavenly Nostrils)
The things Celestia does for her sister…
This is a parody of the 2013-06-09 episode of Heavenly Nostrils. I imagine this scene to play shortly after Elements of Harmony and based Luna’s look on the end of that episode, including her non-magical mane. After a thousand years some sister activities are long overdue, and if Rarity is willing to jump into a mud hole to spend time with her little sister, this is a comparatively small price to pay. Still, if word was to get out, the gossip might take centuries to subside…
If you don’t already, I recommend you go read Heavenly Nostrils now. It’s good, seriously. Maybe not if you don’t like cute drawings, but in that case: What are you doing here in the first place?
As you can see, I’m working on a little parody of this Heavenly Nostrils comic. This is what the Luna sketches were for. 😉 The finished version with a bit more commentary should be up tomorrow or so.
Update: The finished version is here.
The Rarity mini comic is done! Hope you like it!
If you don’t know what’s up with the moose, you must have missed a certain phrase Tabitha St. Germain coined at Everfree NW (look at about 23:45).
