Comet Landing with Twilight and Luna

Twilight and Luna playing with models of Rosetta, Philae and comet 67P

Space Pony and Science Pony playing the space science event of the year! I’m well aware that comet and probes are way out of scale, but there wouldn’t be much to see otherwise. 😛

For anypony who doesn’t know what this is about: This week Wednesday, ESA’s Philae probe landed on comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko after separating from the Rosetta orbiter.

Fleeing Boar

Boar running away from Rarity, who's drinking tea

What’s going on here? Actually, I’m not sure. This sketch was inspired by an old tweet by Tabitha St. Germain that I found in my list of ideas:

“Dream remnants 1.

Well, there was a wild boar.
This I know for sure
It charged out mid private conversation
(as they will)”

— Tabitha St. Germain on Twitter, 2013-05-06 07:22

Her dream tweets are an amazing source of slightly surreal drawing ideas.

Adorableness Expert on Duty

Allirea talking to two royal guards in front of a cordoned off park full of animals

“Thank you for coming so quickly, ma’am. We observed an unusually high number of baby animals in the park. Could you check if the level of adorableness is safe for the public, please?”

The idea for this developed from a short Twitter conversation with Lupinia after she posted a link to Forest Caretakers. Not only did that totally confirm the title of “adorableness expert” in her Twitter bio, it also got me thinking “Well, what does an adorableness expert do?” The human (or pony, as the case may be) mind works in mysterious ways!

The pegasus pony on the left is Lupinia’s OC Allirea (who has a Twitter account of her own). Experts should wear lab coats, and considering the area of expertise in question, a lab coat with hearts on it seemed fitting. 😉

Testing Her Limits

Comic: Luna is stacking round food stuffs on Celestia's horn, Celestia is not happy

The things Celestia does for her sister…

This is a parody of the 2013-06-09 episode of Heavenly Nostrils. I imagine this scene to play shortly after Elements of Harmony and based Luna’s look on the end of that episode, including her non-magical mane. After a thousand years some sister activities are long overdue, and if Rarity is willing to jump into a mud hole to spend time with her little sister, this is a comparatively small price to pay. Still, if word was to get out, the gossip might take centuries to subside…

If you don’t already, I recommend you go read Heavenly Nostrils now. It’s good, seriously. Maybe not if you don’t like cute drawings, but in that case: What are you doing here in the first place?
